room so far

So this is how the room is looking at this moment in time. I wanted to go for a mid-afternoon lighting and still need to add some interior lighting. The sofa is from turbo-squid and the room is borrowed from my degree film Whack'd which Ive re-textured and shuffled some bits around. I wanted to add some geeky bits like sci-fi posters and a computer but not so sure it is needed. I'm about to start animating now so ill come back to the lighting in a bit

New Project

Last week I met up with Tom (a good friend of mine from college and uni) and weve decided to work on a small lip sync together. The concept is of a geek/nerd kid freaking out over a game of Call of Duty. Weve drawn up a storyboard and got the dialogue sorted into which character says what.

A week later and we're ready to start animating. Ive just finished my character's room and had a little mental ray rendering problem with the nerd character's hair, nose and glasses dissappearing but thats finally sorted now after looking it up on the internet. Actually the 11 second club forum. So its monday now, well it was, its now 12.02am Tuesday. So by the end of this week I plan to have my lip sync completed or nearly completed or maybe even starting the movement animations. We shall see. Progress of the room will be uploaded tomorrow

Finished Charlie Short

So it's finally rendered and finished, by far from what I intended it to be but im happy with what I've done on the whole. The minor things I would change from the finished video is the arm movement at the end. It looks odd in the way it comes down as he says "find out". Also it's a little too dark but that is the kind of mood that I wanted to create. I felt that I had spent long enough on the short so I decided to settle with what I've done, learn from experience and move on to something new. I feel that im progressing well and the next project I've set myself is a dancing animation which should be fun! And it is already under-way...

Its about time...

Thought it was about time that I started a personal website that I could upload some of my personal work onto and get up-to-date with myself.

Looking back over the last few months, I've come a long way post-uni working on my showreel and sending it off to a few companys and getting some positive response. Ive worked on my modelling and animation abilities to add some clips to my showreel. My latest work in progress is a lip-sync which will be completed before christmas ready for an update to my showreel by the new year. Watch this space!!
